Litmux Studio 1.0 Beta: a 28,000-part library, small updates, KiCad and Altium projects

Wed 4 Nov 2026 · 2 min read

Litmux Studio 1.0 Beta is the first release to pass our release gate: before a build reaches you, every one of the app's automated tests runs on it - from the PCB router to the simulators - and the built app itself is started, signed in and checked. 1.0.1, 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 have followed it. Here is what it brings.

A parts library of our own - more than 28,000 parts

The Litmux Library now has more than 28,000 parts, built from the makers' own data: STM32 microcontrollers from ST's published pin data, AVR and SAM chips from Microchip's device packs, logic families with their pins from TI and Nexperia datasheets, the parts JLCPCB keeps in stock, connectors, development boards and breakout modules (Uno, Nano, Pico, Pico W, Blue Pill), and relays and solid-state relays. Each part comes with its symbol, its footprint and its 3D model. More about PCB design.

Updates that install themselves

The start window tells you when a new version is ready - no pop-ups. Most updates download only the files that changed, about 40 MB instead of the full installer, and go in when you close the app, so your work is never interrupted. Every file is checked before the update is put in place; if anything does not match, nothing changes.

Open KiCad and Altium projects

File → Open KiCad / Altium project brings a project's boards and schematics in as they were drawn. The schematic is linked to the board when the two agree net for net, so changes follow from one to the other.

Parts that look like the real ones

Components in 3D are modelled from photographs of the real parts - a resistor shows its colour code, a relay its printed body - and the board has the deep green of a real one.

And more

A light theme beside the dark one. Engineering simulation in Part Design - stress, vibration, heat, thermal stress and buckling - with every solver held to exact solutions in our tests. And Help → Report a problem in every app sends us what went wrong with the details we need to fix it.
